Gazillion Thanks + DIY Project Stud Crazeee!

First off, I want to thank everybody who took their time to leave comments on my previous post. Going through a break up is definitely not easy. He is still ignoring my calls and text messages. I don't know how long I have to wait but I'm sure I'll get by. I'm glad I have this blog and y'all, my blogger support group, to help me through this. I really appreciate your overwhelming support. My two precious cats are also comforting me as if they feel I'm hurting.

Although I have friends, I am very discreet when it comes to matters of the heart. Why? Because the 'BF' shares the same set of friends - that I also met thru him. I don't really have a 'bestfriend.' I considered the 'BF' as my bestfriend...and now he's gone. As of now, I guess none of them knows what I'm going through. Only one close friend is aware of my blog (I don't think she checks it as much) and I haven't heard from her so I guess she's clueless as well. I hate to bug her coz I know she's tied up with her wedding preparations. Good thing I'm off this Thanksgiving week or else I'm gonna lose it at work!

Since I had to be busy to keep my mind off of this craziness, I picked up a new hobby. I'm not a crafty kind of girl but since I'm obsessed with those studded jackets I've been seeing around, I started...

Tools of the trade:

(all from eBay)

Hotfix applicator/wand
'I used the "Victoria Lynn Crystal Crafter" around $15 plus. It came with different sizes of tips for various sizes of hotfix embellishments. It also came with a hands-free support stand. The metal end of the applicator heats up pretty fast so be careful. I suggest getting this applicator for precise application. If you don't want to spend that much, your household iron will do.

Hotfix studs
What are hotfix? Hotfix are flat back embellishments with pre-coated heat-sensitive glue. They come in different sizes and shapes (e.g. swarovski crystals, rhinestones, pearls, metal studs). Usually sold per gross(144 pcs). For my project, I used mostly metal studs. I could have used the real studs with prongs on the back but it looks harder. I'm sure my hands will hurt putting the studs in even if I have the stud setter.

Instructions:

1) Choose the correct size tip for the hotfix embellishment you selected. Sizes are marked on tips. Screw it into the unplugged applicator.
2) Plug the applicator. Pre-heat for about 2 minutes. The tip gets very hot so be careful. Do not touch the metal end.
3) Rest the applicator on the hands-free support stand when not in use.

For Crystals and Pearls:
Use concave tips

1) Place the crystal side up on your work surface (glue side facing down on the surface)
2) Vertically position the applicator over the iem and with a very light touch, pick up the item in the cup at the end of the the tip. Do not force the item into the tip.
3) Turn the applicator upright and wait for about 10-12 secs until glue gets shiny and starts to bubble. Time will be less for smaller items, and slightly longer for bigger ones.
4) Holding the applicator vertically, lightly tap the crystal/pearl onto the surface you want to embellish. The crystal/pearl will attach to the surface and slide out of the tip. No need to use extra pressure. Gentle touch will do. If it gets stuck in the tip, just insert a straight pin into the slot of the tip and gently push it out onto the surface to be be embellished.

For NailHeads, studs, and irregular shaped objects:
Use flat tips

1) Position the items (glue side down) in the desired design.
2) Using the correct size flat tip, hold the applicator vertically and apply a light pressure to the stud for approximately 10-15 secs. Larger items require more time. The top of the studs may get scratched if you move the flat tip while heating. You may use a press cloth or handkerchief between the item and the flat tip.
3) If the item appears lose, repeat the process.

Happy Studding and Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Welcome to Heartbreak Hotel...

November 21, 2009

The weirdest thing happened today. I think I got DUMPED on our 4 yrs and 7th month anniversary. My bf and I are supposed to watch the movie 2012 in The Americana in Glendale, CA. We got the tickets for 8:15pm but we got there late and the theater was packed so we had to exchange them for the 10:25pm schedule. To pass time, we walked around, visited clothing stores, and had dinner. While waiting for our order, I checked my facebook account on his iPhone and showed him a photo of what I wore the night I went clubbing with my girlfriends...

It's that Gloria-V bodysuit from American Apparel that Megan Fox wore in Rolling Stones mag. You might have seen xppinx sporting the same outfit in her blog. Also the same outfit that I got a dispute with AA if you have read my previous blog entries.

So the boyfriend got mad. He obviously didn't want me wearing revealing clothes and I did anyway. He said I never listen to him that I do whatever I please as if I'm single. In my mind I asked..What am I supposed to wear to a club? A turtleneck? After that, he refused to talk to me the whole time. I kept asking him and tried to explain but he wouldn't look me in the eyes as if I'm talking to a wall. After eating, we walked back to the theater, actually he walked way ahead of me. I was following him. He was so far ahead that I couldn't even catch up. I was deeply hurt coz It's the first time a guy did this to me. I am thinking of leaving maybe take a cab home or something but I still have the movie tickets with me so I just kept on following him. I saw him entered the theater and then I lost him again. So I went to the ladies room. I wanted to cry so bad I don't want people to see me and feel sorry for me, plus I don't wanna ruin my makeup. I know right? so vain even in a time like this. Then I went out saw him smoking a cig outside the theater. I gave him his ticket without saying a word then I walked back in. He wasn't coming in. I just sat there in the bench and waited. Still got 45 minutes before the movie starts. I was thinking of maybe calling my brother to pick me up if ever the bF leaves me there. I was deeply hurt because NEVER in my life did a guy treated me this way. Then I saw couples that are super sweet and thought to myself how lucky they are. I decided to wait more. Then the bf came inside 20 minutes before the movie starts. After maybe 10 minutes of not talking, he said he's sleepy and wanted to go home instead. So I gave him my ticket and he got it refunded. He walked out of the theater and there I was following him again. He walked way ahead of me. I saw him lighting another cig while walking towards the parking lot. I finally got in his car and waited till he finished smoking. Then I offered him the scented hand sanitizer (like I always do after he smokes) but he said he doesnt want it. Then he started the car and we were quiet the whole time driving on the way home. I leaned on his shoulder and tried to hold his hand but he said 'I'm driving!' I tried holding back my tears. He just wanted to drop me off the curb but I insisted he park his car and we should talk first. He refused and said he's sleepy and he'll just call me. What an excuse right? It's only like 10:30pm and he's sleepy! At this point I felt that it was over between us. But I don't want to leave his car. I wanted to hear it person. I wanted to hear and see him say that it's over! But he refused. I can see that he is really annoyed by me now at this time. So I decided to give up. I just said thanks for the dinner and happy anniversary and he just said okay. I thought to myself that this maybe the last time I'm gonna see him so I hugged him tightly and I whispered to his ear 'thank you.' I left and walked to my house. I started crying coz I couldn't hold the tears back anymore. I'm pretty sure he saw me. He stayed there until I got inside my house. I walked straight to my room and cried more. I waited for him to call but he never did. I sent him a text message after almost 2 hours..."You promised you'd call when you get home" but no reply.

I'm still in shock and still trying to process what just happened. He can't just leave me because of wearing that damn outfit. Maybe there's more to it. I'm clueless to what he was thinking. I refuse to think negatively. I have no idea what to do. I have not seen this side of him until now. It's surprising after so many years of being with him. I never thought he would abandon me like that.

So I guess that's it. I think just got dumped over stupid stuff. I searched for some fitting breakup songs online, found this and then cried myself to sleep...

Pause @ 0:22

Currently watching: You're Beautiful (aka You're Handsome)

Sorry luvlies for my lack of updates. Once again, I've been sucked into the k-drama world. I can't get enough of my newest fave...

Title: 미남이시네요 / You’re Beautiful
Chinese Title : 原来是美男啊
Also known as: You’re Handsome, A.N.JELL
Genre: Romance, comedy
Episodes: 16

Synopsis

Tae Kyung and On Yu are in search of a new member for their idol group, A.N.JELL. However, Mi Nam suffers an injury at the last moment. So Mi Nyu, his twin sister, is asked to step in for her brother. The rest of the drama follows the behind-the-scenes life of an idol group.

Cast

Jang Geun Suk as Hwang Tae Kyung
Park Shin Hye as Go Mi Nam / Go Mi Nyu
Lee Hong Ki as Kang On Yu / Jeremy
Jung Yong Hwa as Kang Shin Woo

I just finished watching Episode 14. It airs in Korea on Wednesdays and Thursdays so I have to wait until next week for the last couple episodes. I think it's a hybrid of "Coffee Prince" and "Boys Before Flowers." I can't help but compare "You're Beautiful" to those two previous dramas because they are similar in some ways. The lead female character pretends to be a guy (just like in Coffee Prince). However, I must admit that Go Eun Chan is more convincing as a guy. There's also a love triangle among Tae Kyung, Go Mi Nyu, and Shin Woo (just like Jun Pyo, Jan Di, and Ji Hoo in BBF). Thanks to Chomfifi for recommending this k-drama!

American Apparel Order Issue Status: RESOLVED!

Y'all prolly have read my previous AA purchase rant. Guess what? It was finally RESOLVED! One of their customer service rep saw my blog post and asked me to contact him. He explained why they have such policies. He explained it really well. Although it's not the best policies they have in place, I really appreciate that he reached out to me and offered to find a better...I mean BEST solution to my order issue.

I got the item for free :)

What a great way to gain back a customer's trust right? I'm sure AA understands how I reacted last time - Just like any other angry consumers would. The important thing is that they're OK in my book now. I'm more confident to purchase from them online in the future coz I know they'll take care of it in case something like this happens again *crossing my fingers*

I also didn't realize that blogging can be that powerful until now!

Halloween '09 Recap

My apologies to all my blogger luvlies coz i've been MIA lately. I was really tied up preparing for halloween. I'm supposed to be a 'Sexy' Chef but with my weight gain, I dunno what to call it anymore. Lol! I bought my costume early this year and now it barely fits me. Since I was too cheap to buy a new one, I ended up wearing it anyway. Here are some pics from the Halloween event that we attended @ LAX in Hollywood...

I hope everyone had a great Halloween celebration!

American Apparel Rant

F*ck American Apparel! They messed up my order! I thought it was UPS’ fault for delivering to the wrong address but turns out AA mislabeled my package! They said UPS will return the item to the them. I asked AA to just ship me a replacement since I need it by Friday. They agreed but they will have to charge my account again and refund it when the returned item is processed. WTF? Is that really their policy? How long will that take? What if I do not have enough funds on that card? Are they going to be responsible for my overdraft charges? I don’t think so! I was going to let it go and just have them handle it their way but they e-mailed me that the item was on backorder! GRRRRRRR! I called their toll free hotline and the customer service rep suggested getting it from a store where they would have the item available. I refused because the reason I ordered it online was to save gas plus I also have a free shipping code. So I just canceled the whole damn thing! It was my first time ordering online from them and most likely will be my last. They didn’t even offer to do something nice to compensate for my awful shopping experience. I mean a discount on the next order would be great. I do a lot of online shopping and never did I experience this type of problem until now! I'm so effin mad right now!

Okay, change topic...I apologize for lack of updates and responding to comments. I've been catching up on my k-drama addiction. I finished watching 'Shining Inheritance' aka 'Brilliant Legacy.' It's really good. Absolutely one of my faves! What to watch next?

Edit: American Apparel's Customer Service contacted me and we are currently working on a better solution for this issue.

SwatchCrazee is currently watching...

My Fair Lady
(Korean Drama)

AKA: Lady Castle, Take Care of the Young Lady, Take Care of Agasshi
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Film Date: August 2009
Korea Casts:
Jung Il Woo, Yoon Eun Hye, Yoon Sang Hyun

Synopsis
Hye-na Kang, the only successor of Kang-san Group, is the owner of the ‘Lady Castle’ and lives a ‘princess-like’ life with her servants. Hye-na’s parents died from a plane accident and her grandfather brought her up. Hye-na is strong-headed, selfish and world revolves around her; it is because she could not experience the warmth of family when she grew up.
One day, she comes across Dong-chan. He makes Hye-na to do community service, kidnaps her, and now appears in front of her as the new household manager! Hye-na makes every effort to throw him out from the castle, but this guy has tenacity in him!

MY THOUGHTS:
I am really liking this kdrama! The female lead character is the same girl from "Coffee Prince" but girly and glamorized. She is really versatile in that sense. I have a miniature crush on the Lawyer guy. His smile makes me melt! But I'm pretty sure the female lead will end up with her butler. OoOhh! I can't wait to finish watching it!

I am currently watching from the koreanmovie.com website. The discussion they have on top of the screen is so crackin me up! Makes the drama more fun to watch! You'll know what I'm talking about when you watch it from the link below:
