Les Miserables 25th Anniversary Tour @ Ahmanson Theater in Los Angeles

Best musical I've seen so far!

Watched it last June 25th @ the Ahmanson Theater here in Los Angeles with my musical theater buddy "Anna".  I'd rather go with her than with anybody else even though I'm half her age.  Maybe because none of my friends are "genuine" theater enthusiast like how Anna is.  I just <3 her! Before the show, we had lunch @ our fave Chinese food spot:

Regent China Inn
747 N. Main St.
Los Angeles, CA 90012
213.680.3333

Their lunch special is only $4.95/dish! Our total came up to only $16 + tip.

Too bad I couldn't eat well because I had my teeth bleached the day before and I'm banned from any food that can stain a white shirt for 48 hours. Boo hoo!

Now back to Les Mis...

Paid $94 for Mezzanine level seast. I brought my binoculars cause my eyes are pretty bad even with prescription contacts on.  We patiently waited for the show to start.  I only know two songs (I DREAMED A DREAMED and ON MY OWN).  Anna told me it was adapted from Victor Hugo's novel and they even made couple movies of it which I never read or seen.

Check out their 25th Anniversary Tour trailer:

Opening night:

This new and improved production is AWESOMENESS! I've watched some old broadway clips from youtube which I didn't really care for.  The whole cast got some major pipes - Such powerful voices!!!  I am also amazed by the digital background effects!  The story made me so emotional and I couldn't help but cry towards the end, especially when they uttered the line:  "To love another person is to see the face of God" from the JVJ's Death song...

Here is a clip from the old production:

This musical is SUPERB! Please please check it out when you get a chance!

Now some camwhoring...hehe!
